A few days ago, while doing some local scouting and research for an article for a Connecticut design magazine, I had to go to Chaiwalla, a tea house in Salisbury. We met the owner, Mary, had a wonderful Jasmine tea and the most amazing organic tomato pie for lunch!
Another fabulous surprise during the visit was seeing that Chaiwalla is hosting an exhibition of Sandra Boynton's work. She is an illustrator of children's books, and most recently has composed music as well. Her Blue Moo book and CD is an absolute favourite here at home and at my daughter's daycare. We are also lucky enough to have a signed copy of Blue Moo that Sandra gave my daughter.
At Chaiwalla, you can see her original work, oil on canvas - and better still, you can purchase it! How great are these for a playroom?!
If original artwork is out of your budget, here is a great alternative... I purchased the Mom's Family Desk Planner and I intended on using it until I I had an idea! The pages inside, with Sandra Boynton's illustrations, are perfect for framing!
