This past Summer we took a week long family trip to Chicago, Minneapolis and Cleveland. For most of the trip, there and back, we took the train. So we purchased a little portable DVD for our daughter to entertain herself in more the boring hours (there are only so many books, colouring, watching out the window, and other activities you can do) - or really just for quiet time :-) ...
The next task was to pick what DVDs to take with us... that is when I found Madeline! Our daughter has since fallen with love with "the old house in Paris, covered with vines". She loves every story, and we have since moved on to the books. So much so that she even asked to dress as Madeline for Halloween!
Just one suggestion... we have only watched the older versions from the 1990's. The newer ones have lost the great touch of the books - but mostly, they do not have Christopher Plummer as the narrator!
