We don't have cable and we have not had cable for about seven years. So we rely on Netfix, Amazon Instant Video and, of course, YouTube. The latter is particularly useful when looking for cartoons and shows appropriate for our daughter.
The first cartoon we ever showed her was Caillou. My mother gave her a musical table for her first birthday that had the Caillou theme song. She loved it so much that I looked for it on YouTube. The American version was soo whinny that I went for the original French. And it was a hit!
